About Dr. McGettigan:

Dr. McGettigan teaches courses in film history, especially the history of Hollywood. She participates in TCU’s summer Study Abroad program, taking students for four-week study sessions to London each year. She is also the coordinator of the FTDM Department's Film Library, which currently holds more than 15,000 film and television programs. Dr. McGettigan programs and hosts the FTDM Thursday Night Movies series, a free event which runs each Fall and Spring semester. Dr. McGettigan is from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and her recent research has been focused on the history of movies in that city, especially about the effects of the Great Depression on the movie business. Her research has appeared in Poetic Visions of  America: The Cinema of Terrence Malick, Pennsylvania History: A Journal of Mid-Atlantic Studies, the Journal of Film and Video, and the Journal of  American and Comparative Cultures.
